Karl Heffner, a German artist, was born January 1, 1849 in Warzburg and died 1925 in Munich. He was a painter of genre scenes, landscapes, and nautical scenes.. He also worked in Dresden, England, and Italy. In 1886 he was made an honorary member of the Academy of Munich, and in 1887 he obtained from the Prince Regent the title of professor. He took part in diverse exhibitions between 1873 and 1883, Vienna and Munich, from 1880 to 1888, the Royal Academy and Grosvenor Gallery in London in 1889 he received an honorable mention at the Universal Exposition in Paris. His works have been displayed in museums in Bristol, Melbourne, Munich, Rome, and Sydney
