A renown British Artist , Vickers was self taught in seascapes, landscapes whose style has been compared to the great Boudin. Vickers exhibited 125 works at British Institute in addition to exhibitions at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists. His paintings exhibited few brushstrokes or "fussy" details and he was known for his balance between sky, water and buildings. Most of his paintings were landscapes and coastal views in England and of the Rhine River.
